Benjamin Franklin is a British artist and creative director living in St. Louis. He grew up in a small town in Nottinghamshire, England and studied art and design at West Nottinghamshire College and completed his education in graphic design at the University of Humberside, graduating with a First Class Honors. He was accepted as a member of the Society of Typographic Designers and The Royal Society of Arts through his recognition as a designer.

He is the Director of Branding and Graphic Design at Gray Design Group, a leading local architectural, interior, and graphic design firm. For over a decade he also taught graphic design with an emphasis on branding and typography at Washington University in St. Louis.

His artistic career began early drawing cartoons and ornithology. At the age of thirteen, Franklin decided he wanted to be a graphic designer and pursued his dreams with the help of family and friends.

Franklin’s paintings are inspired through his love of the outdoors which are experienced through hiking and climbing. Color, scale, and the constant mood change of a landscape has always inspired and captivated Franklin. He primarily uses oil on canvas, a malleable medium that captures the evolving landscape and artists expression.
